Happy New Year!

It can be awfully hard to keep a New Year's resolution! But when our resolution affects the well-being of others, it can motivate us to stay focused. This year, consider your pet's when you make your resolutions. This article has some great suggestions for dog owners: weight loss, dental care, and monitoring lab work regularly for pets.

While dental and medical care are extremely important issues, Lucky Mutt is passionate about helping dogs maintain a healthy weight. Weight is a serious issue facing a huge number of American pets (over half of them are overweight or obese!), but is surprisingly simple to address. After all, dogs only eat what we give them access to. Switching to a higher quality of kibble and limiting treats can make an enormous difference, as can adding regular exercise. Lucky Mutt has lots of options for dog exercise activities, but for some dogs, even 10 extra minutes in the morning and in the evening can help. Exercise needs for dogs vary, though. Check this article out for greater detail on what kind and duration of exercise your own dog(s) may need.
